Saigun provides integration with an
existing Enterprise Resource Planning
(ERP) system, such as SAP®, J.D.
Edwards EnterpriseOne and World®
for the IBM iSeries platform,, PeopleSoft,
and other corporate systems.
We use several techniques for making
ERP data available to the Commercial
Server applications, including batch
downloads, real-time connectors, queued
connectors, and mirrored updates. The
technique you choose depends on the
requirements of your site, the availability
and performance of your ERP system,
and the availability of the different
types of integration connectors to your
ERP system.
E-commerce data, such as the Customer
data, Product inventory levels etc.
often exists on the ERP system and must
be made accessible to the Server application.
Additionally, algorithms and business
rules, such as the Taxation rules, Credit
card processing policies, Product authorization
rules etc. usually exist on the ERP
system and must also be made accessible
to the Commerce Server application.
Finally, data from the Server application,
such as Customer orders, Web customers
and customer updates etc. must be sent
back to the ERP System.
It is important to decide which system
should own the data; in most cases,
it will probably be the ERP system.
