Case Studies - Energy
The Client:
One of the biggest power distribution company. They use SCADA to manage their electrical equipment and track failure for all their 36 grids.

Idea:
SCADA works by using a hub spoke mechanism and operates on high bandwidth VPN connections. Connectivity was not possible to all locations for atleast two more years and regulations were forcing them to look for innovative solutions to track failure and maintenance schedules.

The Solution:
Saigun implemented a complex Grid data capturing system that is distributed, allow the end users to access offline and help track failure and fulfill regulatory requirements.
We also enabled integration with their legacy system and planned for data migration, if required, for future. We provided the solution in two versions, web based and Client Server.

Allows the client to capture GRID data with or without connectivity.
Will allow one click, easy migration to the legacy system whenever required.
The organization will be able to meet its targets of operational efficiency, failure tracking as also meet the regulatory requirements for (un) scheduled downtimes.

The Client:
A global human resources outsourcing and consulting firm delivering a complete range of integrated services to help companies manage their total HR and employee costs, enhance HR services, and improve their workforces.

Idea:
Require a Web Based Communication tool through which the employees are made aware of the various health care plans they are eligible for. The tool is to be built as a product with a less than 3 week customization time-frame for each implementation.

The Solution:
A Web Based tool was developed as a product where employees can configure various plans as per their medical needs and get a comparative view of what would suit them best. Saigun offered solutions for the technical design, solution development, implementation and servers management. Saigun's proactive approach in managing the solution included elaborate risk and mitigation plans which were identified for addressing issues and concerns during implementation.

The Client:
A Rs 2,500 crore company in the manufacture of Salt, Fertilizers and Chemicals. It has multiple offices spread across various cities in India.

Idea:
Re-engineer 7 applications built on legacy platforms (such as Oracle 3 apps, Unix C++, Dbase, Powerbuilder) such that their data can be move to SAP system.

The Solution:
Saigun performed detailed analysis of current applications to re-engineer the business logic without requiring access to source code in a number of cases . Flow charts and diagrams as well as multiple prototypes were created to find and ascertain requirements and all the business rules and data import procedures. Saigun used state of art technology to for invoking TCODEs for data transfer to the SAP R3 system. The solution included complete port of legacy data to the new application.
